Devil May Cry 4 (2008 Capcom)

Devil May Cry, a series consisted of human highlight reels or I should say demon highlight reels. Flashy moves and combos andFace off of course hot chicks. Kick ass cut-scenes and badass weapons. Now it comes as no suprise but Capcom has done it again in creating a very solid action game that clearly stands as the best in the series since part 1. With hit game series such as Resident Evil, Street Fighter and of course for all new gamers (Devil May Cry); Capcom proves why there still here. Now in DMC 4 we start off by seeing the new hero Nero.

Running toward the church which he attends and along the way. Encounters a sworm of puppet masters just waiting to ruin his fun. After some Matrix-like battling we than see his love Kyrie as the songtress of the congregation singing to them the anthem of Devil May Cry. And a tired Nero approaches an empty pew as Kyrie is then done singing. I swear the cut scenes in this game are that of a movie, the sound the animation and the choreography is all where it needs to be. Not to mention the mad character designs and extremely fitting voice overs, I am still a fan of Dante's Bruce Campell impersonations.

Games can often be just about looks, a problem that is seriously becoming a plague these days. Devil May Cry is actually a well-rounded and solid action that game is surprisingly both fun to play and pretty nice to look at it. Well you've heard enough about how the game looks now let's talk about how it plays and some of the weapons you get to use in this vampero featurette. Now I've played all four installments of Devil May Cry and you know that enemies come in orgies and they never stop breeding right? Well get prepped to battle an onslaught of mad paraders over and over again while grating cheesy 80s' techno rock fills up your ear drums. There are still some of the series staples like orbs for health and magic. The demon time glass as I call it which is a statue with a demon holding a time glass (who would've known) still is your main repository for buying items and skills. It allows you to power up and get new abilities. Of course Dante's two guns and his sword as well have always been around and still are here for the long haul.

Blood on my face. Bitch now we got problemsNow through most of the beginning you'll be assuming the role of Nero, who is a little different than Dante as he is more spunky and more alive not as slick either as Dante is. He gets a fist named Devil Bringer this replaces the other gun that Dante would normally have. Nero gets his own gun and of course his own mighty sword which makes him complete. Now Dante his a lot more flashy, he gets tons more weapons and is a lot stronger than Nero but is weaker in defense and is slower. For most of the part both control and are the same even in design. Nero really doesn't control all that much differently than Dante. The cut scenes, plot, characters and the game play itself which is always important hold up pretty nicely here. It's just a bit too bad that the game becomes a little forced towards the end and we never really get a good wrap on the plot. Also more variety in levels would have been nice instead of castle/dungeon after castle/dungeon. Also the game's length leaves some to be desired, I completed this game in less than 3 days time.

If your a major Dante fan well you might not like the fact that Nero is way more important than him in DMC4 (Think Metal Gear Solid 2). Nero is used a lot more and Dante when used has to go through all the same levels Nero does. Which can be tedious. And like I said you don't use Dante as much. Get past some obvious flaws and you got a real solid action game, oh did I mention there is no clipping of graphics in this game. Major plus. All this game is a blend between Castlevania and Soul Reaver (Though not as godly) and holds up the series legacy which was somewhat tarnished after chapters 2 and 3 pretty well.
